A 17-year-old Pardeeville boy faces 50 years in prison oncharges that he had sexual intercourse with 13-year-old and14-year-old girls on separate occasions in August.
Alexandric D. Merrill, 17, is free on a $5,000 signature bond afteran initial appearance Aug. 30 in Columbia County CircuitCourt.
Investigators with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office say Merrillhad sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl on Aug. 14 and a14-year-old girl on Aug. 25 at an apartment in Pardeeville.
Merrill faces up to 50 years as an initial maximum penalty inprison on two felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of achild.
Children younger than age 18 cannot legally give consent to haveintercourse with an adult in Wisconsin. Sexual relations between anadult and a child younger than age 16 could result in a felonycharge for the adult; teenagers at age 17 can be charged as adultsunder Wisconsin law.
Merrill is scheduled for a pretrial conference Sept. 23 and a courthearing Oct. 4.
