Deming Police arrested a teenager Wednesday on four felony counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and more charges are expected, police said.
Zachery Dominguez, 16, was arrested on three third-degree counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one second-degree count of criminal sexual contact with a minor. His alleged victims were three children ages 9, 9 and 11. According to the police department, the assailant admitted to touching the children during questioning.
Dominguez allegedly lured the children to a neighbor's house at the 900 block of South Ninth St.
"He told these kids he was giving away a free Xbox," Capt. Brandon Gigante said. "That's how he lured the kids onto the porch and touch them."
Police were originally tipped off by a call that one of the victims had been kidnapped by Dominguez. As police were on their way to the scene, a family member of one of the alleged victims began chasing Dominguez. Police were able to intercept Dominguez on Hickory St. west of where the alleged inappropriate acts occurred.
"We had a report of him doing this to three kids over the weekend," Capt. Gigante said. "This was a second incident."
He said the alleged assailant was not captured after the first report because police officers were looking for him. He added there are additional charges pending for the previous incidents.
"Right now it looks like it's family and very close friends," Capt. Gigante said of the alleged victims.
He said the police are investigating further leads on the case and possible additional victims.
