A SEX offender who police fear was grooming children has avoided a jail sentence.
Christopher Roberts, 24, breached court orders and also re-offended by again possessing and making indecent images of girls, Winchester Crown Court heard.
Roberts, of Taplings Road, Weeke, had been given a sex offences prevention order (SOPO) to reduce the risk of re-offending but did not take it seriously, the court was told.
The judge, Mr Recorder Stuart Jones QC, handed Roberts a five-month jail sentence suspended for two years.
He also imposed a three-year supervision order with the requirement to attend a sex offender treatment programme.
Roberts had admitted a charge of possessing indecent images and seven counts of making them, covering 21 pictures in total.
He also admitted breaches of the SOPO orders imposed in 2009 including failing to notify a change of address and not telling new girlfriends about his sex offender status.
The judge imposed a new sex offender prevention order with four conditions: no contact with children under 16; no entering of domestic premises where he would expect to find children under 16; no accessing the Internet unless computer has monitoring software approved by the police; prohibited from forming a relationship unless disclosed to probation or police.
