Porn | Allegations That L.A. Traffic Officers Appeared In Porn Video Appalling, Councilman Says [Video]

An L.A. city councilman said he was "appalled and outraged" over allegations that two on-duty city traffic officers participated in a pornographic video using city uniforms and a city vehicle.

"If there is any criminal aspect to this, there will be action," said Councilman Bill Rosendahl , chairman of the city Transportation Committee.

The Department of Transportation employees were placed on administrative leave Thursday pending completion of an investigation, according to Amir Sedadi, the agency's interim general manager. The investigation stems from inquiries by KNBC Channel 4.

According to the station, the video was posted on an adult subscription website and shows an actress approaching a city traffic officer and jumping into his arms.

Porn | Vancouver School Employees Protest Discipline For Porn

Some maintenance workers with the Vancouver school district are protesting the discipline they received last year after an internal investigation concluded that 15 were routinely viewing and exchanging pornography on their worksite computers.

District officials won't divulge details, but an arbitrator's ruling indicates four employees were fired, nine were given short-term suspensions, one was handed a letter of warning and another was still under investigation for the misconduct, which was uncovered after a human resources manager received an anonymous telephone tip.

Several of the workers protested the punishment, with one of the fired workers -Aubrey Hawco -arguing through his union that the district had not provided specific policies nor training that would have warned him not to view pornography at work. Furthermore, management did not object to the open display of pin-up calendars and similar material at the worksite, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) told an arbitration hearing.

Hawco had worked for the district for 12 years and had an otherwise clean disciplinary record, the union noted. As a carpenter, he had performed maintenance and repair work throughout the district and used a computer provided by his employer.

But arbitrator Vince Ready rejected Hawco's excuses, saying common sense would dictate that viewing pornography -including some "disturbingly graphic" materials -on the job is unacceptable, especially at a workplace involved with the care and education of children.

He backed the district's decision to fire Hawco, whom some described as a ringleader, stating in a ruling last year that his "voluminous pornographic email activity represents a patent breach of the employer's trust." Hawco, 41, admitted he had been receiving and sharing pornography daily for two years, using his Vancouver school district email address.

Anal | O'Neal Writing Farrah Book

The actor dated the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star - who died aged 62 after losing a three-year battle with anal cancer in June 2009 - on and off for over 20 years and wants to chronicle their romance in a memoir set for release early next year.

Tina Constable - senior VP/publisher at Crown Archetype, the company who will publish the book - said: "Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett's public and private relationship is one of the great Hollywood romances and has fascinated people for more than three decades. Now, Ryan has decided to stop letting other people tell his and Farrah's story and to instead share their epic tale of love and heartbreak himself."

The tome, which is tentatively titled ‘Past Imperfect’, will also feature never-before-seen photos and documents from their life together.

Last year, Ryan - who has a 26-year-old son, Redmond O’Neal, with Farrah - claimed he can still hear Farrah’s voice and missed the blonde beauty every day.

He said: "I hear her voice, I see her silhouette. I miss her cooking. I haven't had a good meal since she left me. It's harder than I thought. I miss her. We all miss her."

As well as the book Ryan, 70, has made two documentaries about Farrah’s battle with cancer.

Sexy Chicks | Sucker Punch

Killer Eye Candy

Sucker Punch has far more going for it than critics allow, writes JIM SCHEMBRI

Sucker Punch

(109 min) MA

Ignore the bad reviews, folks. This fabulous, fat, FX-heavy slice of high-concept eye candy from Zach Snyder (Watchmen, 300) is a glorious mashing of hot chicks, muzzle flash, explosions and some absolutely fantastic action/fantasy sequences. The absolutely loopy story has local girl Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket) playing Baby Doll, an inmate at an insane asylum - or is it a gentleman's club? Whatever the case, each time she does an erotic dance she enters a fantasy world where she and her pals - Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung and fellow-Aussie Abbie Cornish - engage in elaborate battles in search of items that will win their freedom in the real world. There's no real depth here, just a steroid-pumped serving of cinematic fairy floss that should be taken precisely as seriously as any film featuring a World War II bomber being pursued by a fire-breathing dragon deserves to be. Kudos, too, to Cornish, who can now add to her impressive CV of dramatic roles the ability to convincingly play an uber-blonde who knows her way around an automatic weapon. Sucker Punch is great fun. And as for the claims the film is sexist, no it's not if you go by the dictionary definition. Beneath all the magnificent visual dazzle there actually breathes a story about girls fighting for their freedom, even if it means sacrifice. Perhaps the film's detractors are suffering from Spinal Tap Syndrome, confusing sexist with sexy; the film is definitely not the former, definitely the latter. And Heaven help us if we're ever supposed to feel guilty about watching hot chicks kick ass with guns ablazin', especially if the spectacle involves fire-breathing dragons.

Babes | Hidden Treasures Discovered By Local Gemologist Were Beneficial For Hospice ...

The organizers of Bubbles Baubles and Babes got a nice surprise when they were preparing for their event earlier this month.

The event, held on April 9 at Gallery 78, is a sale of a wide array of fun, fashionable and fine jewelry, with all proceeds going to support Hospice Fredericton.

When they brought in an expert to check out the donated jewelry beforehand, it was discovered they had some true hidden gems.

Colleen O'Donnell, the organizer of Bubbles Baubles and Babes, said having an expert available kept them from undervaluing some great pieces.

"We had talked to Stephen Cole at Spicer Smith and Cole and he had offered to partner with us," she said. "He came to the event last year and wanted to participate."

One of the ways he did that was to make the services of the store's gemologist, Rachel McNally, available for a full day prior to the event.

"Last year was our first event. We were overwhelmed because there were a couple of things that happened at the last minute last year," she said.

In some cases, rather than sell jewelry for far less than it was worth, they set pieces aside until they could be assessed. Still, she is sure people went home with some great deals.

"No one wants to donate their jewelry and see it thrown away, and that was never our intention," she said.

This year, the organizers wanted things to be different. That's where McNally came in.

"Rachel came to my house where we had prepared the jewelry all week long, had cleaned it and sorted it, and she began her process of taking a look at the value of what we had," said O'Donnell.

"Obviously we're not gemologists, so it was quite fun to see her make the first find."

Her first major "find" was a ring that the team thought was silver with a coloured stone. It turns out that it was an 18K white gold ring with an aquamarine stone with a retail value of $1,800.

Thanks to McNally, they were able to sell that ring at the event for $350, said O'Donnell, so both the charity and the buyer went home winners.

McNally had some other great finds as well, which made a big difference in how much they raised.

This year's event brought in approximately $3,300 for the Hospice Fredericton program.

This is good news, as its services are increasingly in demand.

"We have worked directly with over 40 clients and families since the services were made available in 2009," said O'Donnell. "So far in 2011, we've received 14 referrals. It's not just the person who is palliative, it's their whole family that gets help."

Hospice Fredericton also offers a grief support group.

"We have 20 trained volunteers and another training session is upcoming," she said, adding that there are 16 people who have already gone through a security screening and are waiting to take that training.

Organizers plan to have another Bubbles Baubles and Babes fundraiser in November, this time at the Spicer Smith and Cole store in the Regent Mall. Then, on April 21, 2012, the annual event will once again be held at Gallery 78.

"We expanded to the second floor of the gallery this year and what a fabulous setting amidst all the great artwork," said O'Donnell. "We serve champagne and orange juice and some of our committee members bake."

Donations of jewelry can be dropped off at any time to Gallery 78 and HSBC.

Porn | Police Arrest Cole Harbour Man On Child Porn Charges

Police officers quickly swooped down on a Cole Harbour man early Friday after getting a tip from the national child exploitation unit that he'd allegedly posted pornographic photos online.

Local officers arrived at the 51-year-old man's home on Atholea Drive at about 6:10 a.m. to make the arrest, RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae said.

The suspect, whose name hasn't been released, will face child pornography possession charges for allegedly uploading photos to a well-known social media site, police said. Officers seized a computer at the home.

The man was released from custody and ordered to reappear in court in Dartmouth at a later date, said MacRae.

He would not say whether the suspect had been posting photos to Facebook or another social media site.

"The best I can give you is a social networking site (was used) through the computer," said MacRae. "It's a popular site, let's put it that way."

About 10 images were allegedly placed online by the suspect.

"I don't have exact numbers," said MacRae.

"Right now, we don't believe there's any local children. Our investigators would certainly look at that aspect because we'd certainly want to rule that out. We do know they were on his computer."

Making Love | Jerry Seinfeld On Donald Trump: 'I Love Him!'

Jerry Seinfeld is making love, not war, with Donald Trump. At least facetiously.

The star comedian drew the real estate magnate, reality show host and potential presidential candidate's ire by pulling out of a charity event run by his son, drawing a nasty letter from Trump that was published in the New York Post. For his part, Seinfeld cited his discomfort with Trump's increasing birtherism, but in a new interview , he had all nice things to say about the his sudden rival.

"Let me say this about Donald Trump," Seinfeld told "Extra." "I love Donald Trump, all comedians love Donald Trump. If God gave comedians the power to invent people, the first person we would invent is Donald Trump... God's gift to comedy."

So, it wasn't much of an apology, but it's obvious that wasn't the sarcastic comedian's goal. He's got considerable star power on his side, too, given the recent rivalry between Trump and star actor Robert De Niro .

But hey, at least Trump has 90s star Joey Lawrence on his side .

Porn | Porn-viewing MP Waiting For Permission To Quit

Arifinto, a legislator and member of the conservative Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) who handed in his resignation after being caught red-handed viewing pornographic media during a House session, was spotted at the House of Representatives on Friday, apparently still waiting for the President to approve his resignation.

"As long as a presidential decision had not yet been issued, my status remains as an [active] member of the House," Arifinto said Friday.

He added that what mattered most to him was that he had submitted a resignation letter to his party.

According to Arifinto, his letter of resignation also needed to be approved by his party's executive board (DPP), and then the General Elections Commission (KPU), followed by the Internal Affairs Ministry, before it finally reached the State Secretariat.

"The letter sent to the [PKS] executive board was submitted yesterday," Arifinto said, as reported by tribunnews.com.

Making Love | Tusshar-Vidya To Study Love Making From 'Parinda'

After rubbishing rumours of getting into workshops to get the 'right feel' for his love making scenes with Vidya Balan in 'The Dirty Picture', Tusshar Kapoor is now saying that the duo would be content referring to the steamy sequence between Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit for 'Parinda' (1989).

"In any case all this workshop talks sounded really weird at the very first place," says a source close to Tusshar, "It was all so scandalous and frankly even Tusshar was taken aback with such rumours. All he had confirmed was doing a workshop to hone his chemistry with Vidya but the next immediate thing he read was about the love making element being included as a part of this exercise. He was totally misquoted."

Apparently the makers of the film immediately got into the act and told their actors that there were no such plans and anything overtly intimate was definitely out of the workshop agenda. Instead Tusshar and Vidya were asked to refer to the DVD of 'Parinda' and closely study the physical proximity between Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit as seen in the song 'Tumse Milke'.

Confirms Tusshar, "Yes, 'Parinda' is definitely a reference point here. Of course there is no point copying it as-is but then if one has to ever dig into archives and find out a classily shot love making scene, 'Tumse Milke' wins hands down. What Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit did there was sexy but then definitely not in a bad taste."

Hope this one turns out to be a classy act as well!

Sex | D.A. Wants Sex Offenders Kept Out Of City Parks

By Kimberly Edds and Jeff Overley

Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas is continuing his campaign to keep registered sex offenders away from children, sending letters to every city in the county urging the adoption rules to keep registered sex offenders out of city parks.

A new county law, championed by Rackauckas and Supervisor Shawn Nelson , bans registered sex offenders from county parks, county beaches and other county recreation areas beginning Thursday. Violators could find themselves back in jail and hundreds of dollars poorer.

"Protecting the public from dangerous sex offenders is one of the highest duties of government," Rackauckas wrote. Rackauckas is running for re-election in 2014. Several cities, including Fullerton and Orange, already have rules on the books to keep registered sex offenders away from parks, schools and day care centers.

Irvine and Westminster have scheduled hearings in May to discuss crafting their own restrictions to keep registered sex offenders away from children.

"As you know I'm the father to two young children, and their safety is paramount to me," wrote Irvine City Councilman Jeffrey Lalloway in an April 27 memo to his fellow council members. "I want to see all the children of our city protected from sex offenders."

Orange County is home to 1,832 registered sex offenders, according to the state Attorney General's Office. Nelson , a lawyer whose law firm represents criminal defendants, and Rackauckas crafted the law they say will keep children safer. Sex registrants will be charged with a misdemeanor if they are caught in a county park without written permission.

Critics argue the county law, which doesn't distinguish between low-level sex offenders and more dangerous predators, is overly broad and will be unable to survive legal challenges. Sex offenders released from prison can be barred under their parole restrictions from areas where children gather or play, but those additional limitations expire when their parole ends " leaving law enforcement few options to keep sex registrants away from children.

Banning sex offenders permanently from parks was originally included in California's Chelsea's Law, but the provision was removed by state lawmakers during negotiations, Rackauckas said. The new county ordinance adds that additional layer of protection to Orange County parks, he said.

The Sheriff's Department, which keeps an eye on sex offenders in the county's jurisdiction, will be responsible for granting exemptions to sex registrants who want to use county parks or beaches.

"Banishment solves nothing," said Laguna Beach resident Jeffrey McBride told county supervisors April 5, adding the restrictions are "unconscionable and unconstitutional."

McBride is a registered sex offender.

"Critical resources should be applied where they are needed most, monitoring the high risk predators that people fear," McBride said.

Cities, counties and states have been increasingly restricting where and how registered sex offenders live.

California law bans sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of schools or parks where children congregate, but the cities of La Mesa, Santee, Folsom and Elk Grove went even further, barring sex registrants from loitering within 300 feet of schools, amusement parks and other places where children gather.

The state of Georgia expanded its sex registrant laws to ban living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of places where children gather, including schools, churches, parks, gyms, swimming pools or any of the state's school bus stops.

Sacramento County prohibits sex offenders from lingering within 300 feet of any library, daycare center, skate park, public swimming pool, video arcade, youth sports facility or bus stop.

Orange County's new rules were inspired by a city of Fullerton ordinance to prohibit sex offenders who have committed sex crimes against children from loitering within 300 feet of parks, schools and daycare centers. The city of Orange forces registered sex offenders to post signs on Halloween stating their home will not be giving out candy, and their exterior lights of their home must remain off Halloween night.

Nelson eventually wants to ban registered sex offenders from county libraries.

Critics argue the not-in-my-backyard mentality " whether its residency or lifestyle restrictions " may actually be driving registered sex offenders underground " and make them even harder for law enforcement to track. That coupled with the cash-strapped budgets of law enforcement agencies leaves little resources to root out violators.

Violating the law would result in up to $500 in fines and up to six months in county jail.

Just 7 percent of sex offenses against children are committed by someone already convicted of a sex crime against a child, according to a 2003 U.S. Department of Justice study, which means most sex offenses against children are being committed by someone who isn't a registered sex offender.

"Children are the most vulnerable citizens of our community, so we have every obligation to protect them from any harm and danger," said Irvine Mayor Sukhee King .

Porn | City Workers Make Porn

City officials failed to discipline two traffic officers who appeared in a pornographic film while on the job, NBC4 LA has found.

Documents: Code of Conduct Memo (PDF) Department Disciplinary Action Penalties (PDF)

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation has opened an investigation into the behavior of two uniformed, on-duty officers who appear in the sexually explicit movie. The investigation was prompted bythe NBC4 LA exposé.

"It's absolutely disgusting," said Amir Sedadi, general managerof LADOT, after viewing a copy of the movie shown to him by NBC4 LA. "Immediately, we will conduct a full investigation. This is not acceptable to me."

The video, which is available on a popular adult subscription website, tracks the interactions of a porn actress as she approaches men ina range of work environments.

Various men in the film appear to grope her and perform a range of sex acts with her. In one scene, the actress jumps into the arms of an LA traffic officer, who spanks her and then fondles her bare breasts.

A second traffic officer takes a few spankings from the woman, then allows her to get into his official city car, where she performs lewd acts on herself.

In an interview, Jimmy Price, the city’s parking enforcement chief, acknowledged that his employee’s behavior rose to the level of misconduct.

"In my mind, and legally, yes that's misconduct," Price said.

Price knew of his employees' behavior more than two months ago, according to an internal memo obtained by NBC4 LA.

In the Feb. 21 memo, addressedto his superiors and his employees, Price wrote about a "recent incident" involving "an inappropriate website" where a city uniform and car appeared.

Price said "city and department policy prohibit this kind of misconduct, on and off the job," and "failure to meet the standards of conduct will result in "disciplinary action, up to and including discharge."

Price did not discipline the officers.

When asked why, Price said he had only seen some still photos of the officers from the video, and "we were not able to positively identify the individuals as employees."

LADOT parking enforcement employees who originally gave NBC4 LA a copy of the movie say Price has seen it and knows the identities of the officers.

One of the officers who had a prominent role in the video declined to comment. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said, when asked about his participation. The veteran officer jumped into his city car, and sped off.

Sedadi said the officers’ behavior "is not tolerable."

Teen Sex | On Teen Sex, 'practical' Goes Awry

But the young, who will live either up to or down to the standards set for them, deserve better than this well-meaning but flaccid approach.

Apart from the questionable efficacy (Will kids use them? Do they work?) and the fact that condoms have nothing to do with education, their free (another problem) distribution to high school students transmits two contradictory messages.

The first is amoral: sex in high school is tacitly okay, a recreational sport about which adults are agnostic, so long as it is "safe." The second is irrational: sex for high school kids is, well, not okay, but we adults trust neither you kids to abstain nor ourselves to lead.

Sounded together, the two say: "We are giving up hope in your good behavior in order to be free from the fear of your bad." And the kids see through this, and there is engendered in them cynicism and disdain for confused and cowardly adults and their incoherent ethical norms.

Consider: Would any teen with an IQ higher than that of a small barnyard animal take seriously an adult prohibition against, say, tobacco products, were a school to supply ashtrays, filtered cigarettes, and spittoons, on the rationale that because kids are going to indulge anyway, we should give them the accoutrements to make the illicit activity cleaner and safer?

And what if the "sex-in-high-school-is-wrong-but-it-will-happen-so-why-fight-it" approach were taken toward alcohol use, racism, sexism, homophobia, guns, bullying, or, God forbid, climate change?

The problems with this approach are not merely abstract. Adult exhortations to "safe sex" can translate in young minds to invitations to have sex, as students interpret adult quiescence as a green light to experiment. This opens the way for many young people (girls especially) to be coerced and exploited by those who do not love them.

Porn | Porn At Work? LA Parking Officers Film Video While On Duty

Two Los Angeles city employees are under scrutiny for filming a porn movie while on the clock. The video shows the L.A. parking officers fondling and spanking an x-rated actress, and her in the city vehicle, fondling herself.

The two male employees of the Department of Transportation (LADOT) produced the movie while on duty for the city. Both employees are on paid administrative leave. The city has not said if they will terminate both men. The investigation must take place prior to disciplinary action. The city did not show how they discovered the porn, except that it was circulating on the internet.

CBS quotes LADOT General Manager Amir Sedadi as saying, "The Department of Transportation does not condone or tolerate unacceptable or inappropriate behavior from any of our employees."

The film shows two officers, in uniform, engaging in inappropriate acts with a porn actress, with one officer spanking and fondling her. Also shown is her fondling herself while in a city vehicle.

Although Los Angeles is known as THE city of California where all the stars live and crazy things happen, the city still has laws to govern its citizens.

Do you think paid leave is necessary? Is the video not proof enough?

Sex | Australia Sex Row Cadets Charged

Two men have been charged over a sex scandal at an Australian defence academy, in a row which led to a review of the military's treatment of women.

The cadets from the Australian Defence Force Academy are accused of secretly filming a female cadet having sex and broadcasting it on the internet.

They have been charged with misusing an electronic communications service. One has been charged with an indecent act.

The government has set up a number of inquiries in response to the scandal.

The 18-year old female cadet said that she had consensual sex with a fellow first-year cadet, which was then transmitted via webcam to six other cadets watching on a computer in another room.

Photographs of the encounter were also said to have been circulated around the academy.

The two men, aged 18 and 19, face possible jail terms if convicted.

The commander of the academy was ordered to take leave in the wake of the incident and at least two inquiries were initiated.

Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick was asked to conduct a review into the treatment of women both at the academy and in the wider military.

Reviews were also ordered into the use of alcohol and social media in the military.

The scandal followed another relating to the navy.

In February, the defence department released a report chronicling what it called a culture of predatory sexual behaviour on board the naval supply ship, HMAS Success.

It revealed a fiercely tribal culture in which women sailors were treated with disdain, alcohol was badly misused and discipline had broken down.

Porn | Federal Appeals Court Upholds School Board's Decision To Fire Teacher For ...

MADISON, Wis. - A federal appeals court has upheld a Wisconsin school board's decision to fire a teacher who viewed pornography on his work computer for about a minute on a weekend.

The Cedarburg School Board fired science teacher Robert Zellner in 2006. Zellner maintains he was really fired because he was a strong member of the local teachers union.

State courts have found the firing was justified and last year a federal judge dismissed Zellner's case.

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday that even though the union and school district didn't get along, Zellner clearly accessed pornography in knowing violation of district policy and his union retaliation claim is conjecture.

Zellner's attorney didn't immediately return a message.

Sex | Rob Lowe On 'Oprah': My Leaked Sex Tape Is 'the Greatest Thing That Ever ...

Rob Lowe loves his sex tape.

Though it caused a massive scandal for the former teen heartthrob when it was leaked in 1989 " primarily because one of the women featured was revealed to be just 16 years old " Lowe said he now recognizes it as a much-needed turning point in his life.

"It ends up being the greatest thing that ever happened to me," he said on Thursday's "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

"Because what it ends up doing is accelerating sort of my alcohol stuff to where I finally get sober," Lowe explained, "and have been able to have the rest of my life that I'm so blessed with, which is now 20 years of sobriety."

"I don't think any of it happens without [the video]," he added.

THE CAST OF 'ST. ELMO'S FIRE': WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Lowe, 47, pointed out, however, that sex tapes have recently become a hot commodity in Hollywood, purposefully made by stars to make money.

"Now people do sex tapes to help their careers," he said, telling Winfrey that there is a particular celebrity lawyer that is known for being the go-to guy for negotiating the sale of such videos.

"You make the tape, you give it to him and then you are shocked, shocked I tell you, that it is out. You are outraged and you are going to call a lawyer," he explained. "And then the lawyer sells it and you get paid."

The " Parks and Recreation " star, who was on the talk show to promote his new memoir "Stories I Only Tell My Friends," admitted that he loved his time in rehab.

"I highly recommend it. It was like going to college to get sober," he said, adding that he was always an overeager student.

"To me, rehab is serious business for serious people," the actor explained. "It's not a place you go for publicity or to escape a law or to rehabilitate your career, which unfortunately is what it's become."

Lowe also talked about his old friend Charlie Sheen , whom he first became close to at 13 but hasn't spoken to "in a while."

"Everybody in their childhood has that family where you know you're going to be there on Christmas Eve," he said. "And on any given weekend, you're going to be maybe spending the night in the guest bedroom. That was the Sheens' house for me growing up."

PHOTOS: THE WILD TIMES OF CHARLIE SHEEN

But Lowe recognizes that his "homeboy" doesn't share his positive view of rehab programs.

"I love him and he and I agree to disagree on sobriety," Lowe said, adding that he has offered to stand by Sheen as he gets the same help that "saved" his own life but the 45-year-old former sitcom star isn't interested.

"He has always been an iconoclast and a true character full of charisma and wild, and he's letting it all loose," Lowe explained. "He's like, 'You know what? I'm really going to go full throttle with what I've been keeping inside my whole life.' That's really where it's at."

Sheen's recent behavior "really is Charlie being Charlie," Lowe concluded, "in an obviously much more advanced, hopped-up version."

Sexy Chicks | Roger Corman's Action-Packed Collection

The Movies:

A triple feature of Roger Corman produced drive- in films, this action packed collection is a veritable threesome of car chases, hot chicks, snappy dialogue and groaningly bad comedy - now available remastered and in one handy dandy set! Like a lot of Corman's drive-in pictures, these three films are a good bit of fun. Here's a look:

The Great Texas Dynamite Chase:

Directed by Michael Pressman in 1976, this film follows Candy (Claudia Jennings), who is just about the sexiest prisoner you've ever laid eyes on. She busts out of the big house and the winds up even further on the wrong side of the law when she robs a bank. She's not all bad news though - her motives were pure, you see she robbed that bank to give the money to her family who are in danger of losing their home as they just don't have the money to make the payments. Feeling pretty good about doing this, Candy then teams up with one of the bank tellers, Ellie Jo (Jocelyn Jones), who encourages her to do more of this type of thing. Before you know it, Ellie Jo is the Little John to Candy's Robin Hood and the two are tearing around the countryside using dynamite and cleavage to rob banks and avoid the law.

As their crime spree continues, they wind up in a bad spot and have to take a man named Slim (Johnny Crawford) as a hostage. It doesn't take long before he's won over by their charms, however, and he soon finds himself the third member of their crew. The police, however, are none too happy about any of this and are incessantly ratcheting up the heat on Candy and her pals.

While this isn't much more than a low budget Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid knock off with breasts, it's still a fun watch. Claudia Jennings may not have been the most enthusiastic woman to ever walk the silver screen but she's got presence and deserves credit for that. She's got a mischievous way about her in this picture that makes her right for the part and her camaraderie with Jocelyn Jones and Johnny Crawford ensure that our three antiheroes are worth spending ninety minutes with. Pressman manages to cram in enough wanton sex to keep things marginally steamy and if none of it is particularly believable or original you won't mind so much. It plays to drive-in movie clichs in a big way but that's half the fun of the picture. It's predictable in its ending and in its morality but we get enough action and humor and skin to make up for that. This was director Pressman's directorial debut. He'd go on to work in television a lot and to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze . Neat, huh?

Georgia Peaches:

A made for TV movie that Daniel Haller directed in 1980, Georgia Peaches (or, as the title card here indicates, Follow That Car - an alternate title it played theaters under overseas) obviously tones things down a bit from the first film in the TA department. The movie stars Dirk Benedict as a race car driver named Dusty who lives with his hot girlfriend, Sue Lynn Peach (played by Terri Nunn of Berlin!) - together they run a garage. They live a pretty cozy life together until an evil businesswoman named Vivian Stark (Sally Kirkland) decides she wants to build a car dealership on their land. Stark approaches Sue Lynn about making a deal but you know she isn't going to sell, so Stark resorts to less noble tactics to get her way. Things take an interesting turn when Sue Lynn's sister, Lorette (Tanya Tucker - seriously!), shows up having just finished her latest musical career moves and now in need of a break.

Not so surprisingly, Dusty and Sue Lynn soon find themselves the recipients of some unwanted and unwarranted police attention. The fuzz show up regularly and start finding hot cars on the property and soon throw the two in the slammer. A man who works for the U.S. Government lets them out, but only on the condition that they help him uncover and bust up a smuggling ring operating in the area.

Obviously playing it safe and made for the standards of 1980s TV broadcast, this film doesn't really amount to much in the grand scheme of things. Made as a pilot for a series that never got off the ground, it's entertaining enough and interesting thanks to some bizarre casting choices, but not really all that more memorable than, say, your average episode of The Fall Guy . The film does earn some pretty serious bonus points for casting the eternally sexy Terri Nunn opposite the eternally bleach blonde Tanya Tucker and Sally Kirkland is fairly easy on the eyes and a fine choice for the antagonist. Dirk Benedict sort of walks through the whole thing though, not really doing much to make the role his own or to make us care.

In the end it's a moderately entertaining and completely entertaining G-rated slice of predictability, but Corman enthusiasts will appreciate having it in their collection, and yeah, Terri Nunn. Yowza.

Smokey Bites The Dust:

Last but not least is this Charles B. Griffith film from 1981 starring Jimmy McNichol as a teenage nogoodnik named Roscoe who winds up winning the heard of the high school homecoming queen, Peggy Sue (Janet Julian). They take off together in Roscoe's car, much to the dismay of Peggy Sue's father, Sheriff Turner (Walter Barnes) and her boyfriend, a football player named Kenny (William Forsythe). Roscoe's not so bright pal Harold (John Blythe Barrymore - and yes he is related) also wants to figure out what's going on and so before you know it, the cops and those who would put a stop to Roscoe and Peggy Sue's whirlwind romance are chasing them around the state trying to catch them before they take off to God knows where.

Short on plot and obviously influenced by a series of Burt Reynolds movies made a few years earlier, Smokey Bites The Dust really has only the slimmest of storylines to latch on to but it makes Roscoe and Peggy Sue likeable enough that you at least want to see how this all plays out. Some interesting casting choices keep the entertainment value high on this one, with a young William Forsythe standing out and Walter Barnes doing his best to chew through as much of the scenery as he can. Janet Julian, who has popped up in everything from Ferrara's The King Of New York to the Swamp Thing TV series is just about as cute as you could hope for while Jimmy McNichol is fine, if surprisingly vapid, as the dream guy.

The jokes are not only predictable but telegraphed at you from a mile away. The soundtrack is as corny as it gets and the production values are as cheapjack as expected. The dialogue is awful and many of the car chase sequences use footage that was quite obviously sped up for effect. The whole thing is a big stinker of a movie, really, but it's got heart. Griffith proved with Grand Theft Auto that he knew how to shoot car chases and there's some good excitement here from those scenes despite their shortcomings. Smokey Bites The Dust is bad on most traditional levels but you can't help but enjoy this one, it's just good lighthearted escapism.

Video:

The Great Texas Dynamite Chase and Georgia Peaches both look pretty good in film sourced 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfers, while Smokey Bites The Dust looks just slightly rougher in 1.33.1 fullframe. As far as the aspect ratios go, the framing seems fine for all three films, there are no cut off heads or missing text in the credits sequences. Detail is pretty decent for a trio of older films and while some minor print damage is present throughout as are sporadic moments of heavy grain, the discs are fairly well authored. Some minor compression artifacts do pop up but you probably won't notice them if you're not being anal retentive about it. These are old movies meant for a dive-in audience, and they look it, but that's not a bad thing. Shout! has done a fine job here.

Porn | Municipal Broadband's Best Hope In NC? Porn

Like a lot of legislative efforts at various levels of government, House bill 129 in North Carolina, which would impose new regulations and limitations on the ability of municipalities to build their own broadband networks, has gotten a bit bogged down by potential amendments. The most notable one, pointed out by DSL Reports, was an amendment that would ban porn from community-owned cable TV systems.

DSL Reports has more:

"The porn debate isn't expected to derail the discussion in North Carolina for long, so residents of North Carolina who'd like to retain full rights when it comes to having a say in your own town's broadband infrastructure still have time to contact their representatives."

Municipal broadband backers can, for now, ironically, thank pornography for keeping their hopes for community-run networks afloat. It made the most controversial current debate over the future of municipal broadband a little more controversial. Still, it would be in their best interests to get legislators to focus on the matter at hand: Keeping big broadband service providers from blocking municipal efforts to build networks in markets in which they themselves have shown little or no interest. Meanwhile, is the Federal Communications Commission going to weigh in on the municipal broadband debate?

Porn | Should We Allow Porn In Libraries?

If you found this article while searching for porn that fetishizes bookish bespectacled women, you're going to be sorely disappointed. In this rare case, we're talking about porn in libraries , not librarians in porn. That's because earlier this week, the Los Angeles City Council voted against filtering out all porn on library computers. Just the day before, the Brooklyn Public Library publicly defended patrons' right to watch any legal adult content of their choosing. The first case was prompted by an incident in which kids were exposed to pornography being watched by an adult on a library computer; and the second followed a physical altercation between a man watching porn on a library computer and another man waiting to use said computer.

A little background: The 2000 Children's Internet Protection Act requires libraries receiving federal assistance to filter out obscenity, child pornography and material that is harmful to minors, but -- this is key, so take note -- it also requires librarians to abide by adults' requests for the filtering software to be turned off to "enable access for bona fide research or other lawful purpose"). The American Library Association, with the help of the ACLU, challenged the law, arguing that it violated First Amendment rights -- but the Supreme Court ultimately decided that it did not, since adults could ask to have sites unblocked. But what the case didn't definitively answer was whether adults should be allowed to watch hardcore porn in the library -- and so here we are.

While the ALA has unsurprisingly fallen on the anti-filtering side of this debate, and librarians in general are especially attuned to threats of censorship, there is by no means a consensus on the answer to this question. Christian Zabriskie, the founder of the advocacy group Urban Librarians Unite, told me, "I personally think that this is a poor decision on the part of these libraries that are going this route. While they may be protecting the First Amendment rights of some patrons [the ones looking at porn], they are ignoring the rights of other patrons," say, the right to bring your children to the library without concern that they will be exposed to porn while they are working on a term paper. Some libraries have addressed this concern with privacy screens or by moving computers to less-trafficked areas.

Shannon McNeill, a librarian outside Pittsburgh, supports filtering but said, "Libraries are pretty liberal with the filters and there really does need to be a line drawn with what is appropriate for the sake of children and other people using the library." Complicating things is that "there are a lot of different ways to get around it," she said, citing the men she's seen using library computers to watch sexy workout videos.

Jessamyn West, a librarian and a moderator on MetaFilter, wrote in an email, "My personal perspective is that our role is to provide people with access to information that they can use for whatever purpose they want, whether that's to become a better citizen, do homework, or just for entertainment." She added: "I think the U.S. is a little hung up on sexuality and policing other people's sexual expression." She also pointed out in a MetaFilter thread on the subject that it's questionable whether seeing two people having sex is any more traumatizing to a child than the nonsexual graphic images easily accessible online (and off, for that matter) -- like photos of the carnage of war.

While librarians differ on how porn-viewing patrons should be dealt with, many are in agreement that the issue has been blown out of proportion by the media. McNeill says that at her library they have to ask someone "to please 'not look at questionable material' at least once a month." The last person she had to confront was a man in his early 20s who was taking pictures of Internet porn with his cellphone. Similarly, Zabriskie said, "In more than a dozen years as a public librarian I have thrown probably about five guys out of the library for watching porn." He continued: "This 'porn in the library' thing is being made out to be an epidemic. It is not. The epidemic is the loss of libraries, staff and collections in our new budget realities."

Porn | 39 Arrested In Child Porn Sting Statewide; 11 From Utah County

SALT LAKE CITY -- An image of a towering columnof smut was relayed during a news conference Thursday afternoon inorder to give perspective to the scope and breadth of OperationFrosty Lime Squeeze. The operation was a coordinated effort duringMarch between the state's Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce and 37 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

In Utah County alone, authorities arrested 11 suspectedperpetrators, more than any other county in the state. Utah CountySheriff's Lt. Mike Brower did not know why Utah County had morearrests, but said local investigators worked extra hard during theoperation.

"In Utah County we were just able to put some extra focus onproactive work," Brower said. "We had several investigators whowere very passionate about the work and about stopping theseindividuals."

During the conference, Attorney General Mark Shurtleff revealedthat the operation -- which is named for it's effort to "squeeze"those accessing child pornography on the FrostWire and LimeWirepeer-to-peer networks -- netted 39 arrests. Officials also served52 home search warrants and 39 computer search warrants, and seized124 computers, 118 external hard drives, 31 cell phones, five Xboxgame consoles and more than 1,000 CDs and DVDs.

More sobering still, Shurtleff said that if a person spent eighthours a day downloading and viewing the confiscated childpornography it would occupy 55 years of that person's life.

ICAC field commander Lt. Jessica Farnsworth said the individualsarrested as part of the operation come from all walks of society. She described them as doctors, teachers, construction workers andfathers, among other things. But most of all, she stressed, many ofthose arrested held positions of trust and had contact withchildren.

"No one suspected these perpetrators lived these secret duallives," Farnsworth said.

Shurtleff characterized the consumption of child pornography asan addiction that can never be cured, only controlled. He addedthat the penalties for involvement in child pornography may be toolenient.

"Pedophiles spend way too little time behind bars," he said.

Among those arrested, materials released after the newsconference highlighted two Utah County suspects. The first,37-year-old Jeremy Hanks, is described as a convicted serial rapistwho was released from prison in November. Investigators reportedlyfound child pornography on an array of electronic devices atHanks's Pleasant Grove home, and he now faces federal charges.

Brendon Morrey, 26, also was singled out in the news release forboth downloading and manufacturing child pornography. He issuspected of sexually abusing at least one child.

Other Utah County suspects arrested during the operation includeAdam Kuntz, 33; Coltin MacKey, 21; Victor Karcich, 33; MatthewHall, 26; and Ephraim Smith, 30. One juvenile also was arrested, and Brower said other investigations are ongoing.

Authorities Thursday did not reveal details about investigativetechniques, but Farnsworth said that the investigation focused onfinding suspects who were interacting with each other online.

"It is kind of a ripple effect," she explained. "Sex offenderstend to hang out with other sex offenders. So with the developmentof the Internet it has created the opportunity for people to talkto each other in groups."

Farnsworth said that the operation was about seeking outpredators before they committed further crimes. Those who viewchild pornography often eventually try to act out their fantasies, she said, leading them to molest children.

Brower said that he hopes the operation sends a message to thoseinvolved with child pornography that they will be discovered.

"I would hope that those who download and share and manufacturechild pornography understand that they are being monitored and thatwe will come after them," Brower said.

Teen Sex | Teen Sex Offender Pleads Guilty

The teenager faces 14-to-16 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

The boy pleaded guilty, saying he'd sexually abused six or seven victims on more than 50 occasions.

The teenager was prosecuted as an adult in Madison County District Court after a failed attempt to move the case to juvenile court.

He will have to register as a sex offender.

Court records say the crime occurred in April last year.

Because of his age, WOWT is not using the boy's name.

Sex | Man, 63, Gets 25-40 Years For Sex With Runaway, 14

A Calhoun County Circuit Court jury on March 30 found Sam Sanders guilty of harboring a runaway and third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. A judge sentenced him Thursday.

Defense lawyer Ward McDonough has said his client should have used better sense and says the girl's story changed over time.

Authorities say the girl knew Sanders and called Sanders in February 2010, then ran away from home. They say she stayed with him while police searched for her.

Sexy Chicks | Pick-up Lines

The first thing you expect about a pickup artist is that it will be a man with facial hair that was fashionable when your mum and dad used to go to discos, with his shirt open a bit too much to reveal a gold medallion and maybe offering a dodgy-looking pamphlet about the latest herbal extract to boost your "virility".

You don't expect it to be a vivacious, friendly and engaging young woman. But that's what Marni Kinrys is. She calls herself The Wing Girl and makes a living helping men meet women no matter what their desires, from a one night stand to everlasting marriage. To do that, Kinrys has products and services from a range of books and DVDs to coaching sessions over Skype calls for lovelorn blokes.

But it isn't about helping men score chicks. To Kinrys, gender relations in the 21st century is a minefield of boundaries and anxieties and her job is to help you through it to get what you want. "We have all these boundaries because of our past experiences, our baggage, the examples around us enhanced by the media, in other examples of people being successful and maybe ourselves not being as successful," she explains over a crystal clear Skype call from her native LA.

"It's very confusing today. In the past men were men, women were women and everybody knew what their role was. Now people have different rules. Some women are supposed to be aggressive and ask men on dates and some men are supposed to be okay with it and that gets confusing. It's just discomfort and insecurity - we're confused about what we're supposed to be and who we are."

Kinrys, who married her partner of seven years last year, calls herself your "best girlfriend". As soon as you realise the 30-year-old is serious about what she does and isn't like those sleazy "get lots of chicks" ads you see in the back of men's magazines, you learn something else about her approach that's refreshing. She preaches a healthy does of respect to her clients, instilling and maintaining it in themselves and the women they hope to meet. "I don't like manipulation. I don't like routines and becoming something else that you're not to impress a woman,"she says.

An example can be found in one of Kinrys' YouTube videos where she helps you avoid the "friend zone" if you're interested in a woman. While she pours her heart out about past heartbreak and you take her shoe shopping, Kinrys says you have to make your intentions clear about what you want with her. Not only will it stop her thinking of you as just one of the "girls" (not at all a romantic figure), you won't be a doormat to her every desire just because you fancy her. Kinrys says blokes should establish and stick to clear boundaries about what they want, not just for the sake of their own self-esteem but because women find them incredibly sexy. It's quite profound psychology for a pick up artist.

At times, Kinrys still has trouble convincing customers she's nothing like the ads for pheromone sprays and guaranteed pick up lines. She's been involved with and spoken at conventions with names like the Pick Up Artists Summit and Global Pickup Conference, but she says even there men are no different from those in the outside world. "Whenever I mention Pickup Artists or the PUA Summit people think 'that must be a room full of losers', but there are some amazing men in that world."

In fact, Kinrys believes it might be a stand-in for the sort of personal networking that comes naturally to women. While you probably talk in depth about your relationship hopes and dreams with your girlfriends, your boyfriend, husband or male friends are floundering in a world with little outlet for or information on getting what they want.

"Men don't have that sort of information and if they do it's cheesy or not really accurate," she says. "I'm the female friend for men to resolve their past issues with women and I'm not going to slam it on their face, flake on them, give them the silent treatment or lead them on in the friend zone. I'm going to give it to them straight."

But there's one overarching criticism of Kinrys' whole business model. Doesn't her approach characterise life as one big battle of the sexes, all of us with the same outlook, wants and personality as the rest of the gender on our side of the fence?

"It's too simplistic to say everybody is the same," Kinrys agrees. "But we all have very similar basic needs and wants. It really comes down to appreciation, understanding and being attracted to people who are attracted to themselves. That can look different for different people, but you attract people who'll be attracted to you at your best. It's a base to start from to get a proper grasp and then you can make your own belief system from that."

When all's said and done Kinrys' beliefs and coaching comes down to a single very old chestnut - be yourself. "My biggest lesson for men is that they are allowed to be men," she says. "Be the man that you want to be, don't suppress him. You have free range to ask for whatever you want. A woman is looking for you to be your most genuine and authentic self and that's when she'll find you the most attractive - at the beginning but also right through a relationship or marriage."

Porn | India's Cyber Cafes Going Porn-free

Pornography fans in India who like to indulge in the sexual eye candy at public cyber cafes may be in for a forced intervention as a new government ruling bans porn websites, requires cafe owners to keep a one-year log of all sites accessed by customers and forces customers to produce an ID card prior to use.

These new guidelines, which were released April 11, are getting a lot of pushback from privacy advocates in India, who cite the legality of watching porn in the country.

"Watching pornography is not illegal in India,"Pawan Duggal, a lawyer who specializes in IT laws, told The Times of India ."It's absurd to ask cyber cafe owners to tell their customers not to access pornographic material even as law allows individuals to access adult websites unless it's not child pornography. The new rules require a second look."

The "InformationTechnology (Guidelines for Cyber Cafe) Rules, 2011" imposed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (aka the Department of Information Technology) have several requirements, all of which have met with more questions and concerns over the impact on everyone who accesses the Internet through the cafes, not just porn watchers. Here are the notable issues that show some Big Brother tendencies:

Cyber cafe owners must register with an unnamed agency for licenses for their establishments.

Cyber cafe users must produce a legally valid form of identification prior to using a computer, such as school ID, passport, driver's license and voter ID card. Children without ID must be accompanied by an adult with acceptable identification documents.

If the cyber cafe user isn't able to produce legit ID, then they may be photographed through a webcam.

Refusal to produce identification or to be photographed will result in the user not being allowed to use a computer at the cyber cafe.

"All the computers in the cyber café shall be equipped with thesafety/filtering software so as to the avoid access to the websites relating topornography, obscenity, terrorism and other objectionable materials."

Webcam photos will be part of the log cyber cafe owners need to maintain for a minimum of one year, either in print or online. Cyber cafe owners will also be required to submit monthly reports to the Ministry's overseeing agency that give details about computer use, including: "History of websites accessed, logs of proxy server installed at the the cafe, mail server logs, logs of network devices such as routers, switches, systems etc. installedat the cyber cafe and logs of firewall or Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems, if installed."

Finally, the guidelines bring down barriers between users by disallowing partitions of more than 4.5 feet at computer stations. Children are not to be allowed to use the computers unsupervised.

Duggal told The Times that he thought these rules may very well force cafe owners out of business.

Non-profit watchdog Privacy India has these guidelines square in its sights, protesting: the redundancy of the licensing process (cyber cafes are already subject to registration and licensing), how the guidelines may make cafe owners vulnerable to liability for the actions of their users and blocking internet access to children from "poorer classes,(since they are most likely to routinely access internet through cyber cafes) and denies them the opportunity of developing their computer skills which are crucial for the growth of the "knowledge economy" that India is trying to head towards."

Naturally, privacy is the issue that most concerns the group, which would insist on a purge of the logs after "the minimum retention period." Here's what they have to say about kids and their right to privacy:

In addition, we believe that children are more susceptible to exploitation and consequently have a heightened privacy expectation which must be honoured. We recommend that the current sub-rule be deleted and replaced with a clause which specifically exempts children from proving their identity and forbids taking photographs of them under any circumstance.

And why adults need it, too:

There are many uses of the internet for which a user may legitimately require privacy: For instance, patients, including HIV patients and those with mental illness, may wish to obtain information about their condition. Similarly sexuality minorities may wish to seek support or reach out to a larger community. Enforcing the architecture stipulated in this rule would discourage their access to such vital information. In addition, this architecture would make it easier for cyber crimes such as identity theft to take place since it would be easier to observe the login details of other users at the cyber café.

The group is also not a fan of all the info that cyber cafes will be sitting on. "We further believe that access to the history of websites and mail server logs is a serious invasion of a person’s privacy, and should be omitted from the back up logs."

As if all those new guidelines weren't already cramping the carefree surfing experience, cyber cafes will also be subject to periodic visits by police inspectors who will have the power to demand all logs and check for compliance.

Porn | Murdering Muslim Porn Stars

Islamists are targeting Western Muslim porn stars. This is how far the West has fallen: The porn star versus the Koran. Sila Sahin, a daytime TV soap-opera star, has sparked a public firestorm in Germany. The 25-year-old actress appears topless on the current cover of the German edition of Playboy. By Western standards, Ms. Sahin's behavior is typical, even tame. She is an amoral celebrity hoping to cash in on her fame by baring it all. Been there, done that. Marilyn Monroe, Drew Barrymore, Daryl Hannah - the list goes on of celebrities who have posed for Playboy.

Yet Ms. Sahin is Muslim. Raised in Germany by conservative Turkish parents, she is casting her actions as a form of personal liberation, a brave rebellion against the strict moral standards and repressive sexual norms of her traditional religious upbringing.

"For years I subordinated myself to various societal constraints," Ms. Sahin said in Britain's Sun newspaper. "The Playboy photo shoot was a total act of liberation."

She added: "What I want to say with these photos is, ‘Girls, we don't have to live according to the rules imposed upon us.' "

I am woman, watch me pose. Ms. Sahin is the new darling of European feminism, while she is despised by Germany's burgeoning Islamic community. It is calling upon the country's 3 million Muslims to boycott Ms. Sahin. She has been branded a "Western slut" and "whore." Her father reportedly is ashamed and shocked by her behavior. Her mother is no longer speaking to her. Many Europeans are simply baffled: Why would any self-respecting parent object to their daughter being in Playboy? Isn't that the goal of every young woman?

Her parents are rightly outraged by her shameless behavior. Ms. Sahin has not been the victim of some extreme fundamentalist upbringing. She was not forced to wear a burqa or denied the right to work or go to school. In fact, by all accounts, her parents supported her career aspirations and desire to be a TV actress. They just don't want their daughter degrading her body. In other words, they value something most Europeans - and Americans - no longer do: chastity.

Ms. Sahin is a fool - and a shameless libertine. She is peddling the central myth of modern feminism: Women's empowerment and sexual permissiveness go hand in hand. They do not: Usually licentiousness leads to brief moments of pleasure followed by long periods of loss, unhappiness and associations with those who are equally self-centered and debauched.

The greatest revolutionary of the 20th century was not Vladimir Lenin or Adolf Hitler, but Hugh Hefner. The founder of Playboy launched the sexual revolution of the 1960s. He championed the "Playboy Philosophy": If it feels good do it. Over the past 40 years, the Playboy Philosophy has triumphed in the West, having replaced traditional Christian values.

Ms. Sahin is its latest victim and a symbol of the West's decadence. Yet Germans are now waking up to another horror - that many of their fellow Muslims want the actress to be killed.

Islamic websites have posted threats. "She must pay," one said. "She needs to be very careful," another warned. German TV crews then asked some ordinary Muslims on the street what they thought of Ms. Sahin's actions. To their shock, some openly espoused the right to honor killing. A kebab shop owner vowed that if she were his daughter, "I would kill her. I really mean that. That doesn't fit with my culture."

Teen Sex | Teen Sex Talk Remains Challenging

As technology continues to evolve at seemingly warp speed, parents often feel outpaced by their teens' knowledge andfamiliarity. While this can foster moments of great pride, it canalso be intimidating and concerning.

Risk taking and sexual exploration among teens isn't new. However, as teens have incorporated technology into their dailylives, they have discovered more ways to use " and misuse "expression and sharing. As with other expressions of sexuality, this can lead to the possibility of unintended consequences.

What does this mean for parents? The answer is the same answerto all issues surrounding adolescents and sex, familycommunication.

Even if we have a hard time understanding this new digitalworld, it is our job as parents to remember that the fundamentalfeelings and questions teens have about sexuality and appropriatebehavior are the same.

Thoughtful discussion and real strategies help teens thinkcritically about the potential repercussions of choosing to expressor explore sexuality through technology.

Sex | State Senate Votes To Allow Municipalities To Impose Stricter Sex Offender ...

TRENTON - The state Senate on Thursday voted to allowmunicipalities to pass ordinances imposing strict rules on howclose sex offenders can live to schools, parks, school bus stopsand child care centers.

The bill, approved 31-0, would enable towns to block registered sexoffenders listed as a high or moderate risk from living within 500feet of those sites where children congregate.

Local governments also could pass laws requiring a distance of 250feet between a sex offender's registered address and a school busstop, although no municipality would be forced to passrestrictions.

The legislation would allow municipalities to enact suchrestrictions without violating state law that says thoserestrictions could amount to additional punishment for offenders. The bill puts a significant burden on municipalities to locate newschool bus stops and child care centers away from offenders' homes, rather than allowing a municipality to make an offender move.

The bill requires towns that pass the ordinances to put togethermaps laying out restricted zones where offenders would not bepermitted to live.

However, the final determination of where an offender lives wouldbe made by parole board officials, who could review housing optionsand make "needs-based" exceptions for any offender.

Sen. Fred Madden, D-Gloucester, Camden, who sponsored thelegislation, said he acted in response to a 2009 state SupremeCourt decision that struck down local ordinances that imposedrestrictions on where registered offenders may live.

The court ruled that no permissive, standardized language existedin state law to accommodate the creation of those zones.

Madden said his bill puts that language in place.

"This gives a workable way, we hope, for towns looking at this. Itwas written in a way that hopefully would avoid anunconstitutionality challenge," he said.

That news pleased officials in towns that have tried to passsex-offender residency laws, among them Galloway Township inAtlantic County. In 2009, the state Supreme Court struck down twoordinances, in Galloway and Cherry Hill, Camden County, that triedto stop registered sex offenders from living in many parts of themunicipalities.

Because of those rulings, 118 municipalities, including Ocean City,Millville, Margate, Wildwood Crest, Wildwood, Egg Harbor City andSea Isle City, had to repeal similar ordinances.

Galloway Mayor Keith Hartman said Thursday that he wanted to seetowns attempt to pass residency laws again.

"You don't compromise on the safety of children," he said.

But he acknowledged the bill puts much of the planning on thetownship's shoulders.

Offenders moving into a municipality would have to avoid theestablished zones, but Madden and others were less clear on howretroactive the ban would be.

Meanwhile, towns must do their own research to avoid putting childcare centers and school bus stops within distance of offenders'homes.

Madden said such a proactive stance is part of government'sresponsibility to protect its citizens.

"As prime sponsor of this bill, I say if it was in my district, theschool district has to move the bus stop," he said.

The bill has been introduced in the Assembly but has not beensubject to a committee hearing.

Sex | Travis Masse Trial: Closing Arguments Underway In Broomfield Sex Case

The student asked him for a picture of the "long lost friend I used to play with," Werner read.

Masse responded by sending a photo of his penis.

"So he knows exactly what to send her," Werner told the jury.

Masse texts her about wanting to have sex with her, the prosecutor said.

After she responds "Good, that's the way I like it," Masse writes "I know."

Werner said the former student then wrote: "I'm glad you remember."

"'I know' - His words, ladies and gentlemen," Werner said. "How does he know? Because when they were in California, he had sexual intercourse with her."

The prosecutor asked the jury to consider why a young woman would come into a courtroom to testify in front of 13 strangers about "matters so intimate and so disgusting" if they weren't true.

She said Masse met his alleged victim when she was 15 and groomed her to a point where she was willing to have sex with him.

Werner asked the jury why Masse and his former student would exchange nearly 9,000 text messages in three months if there wasn't something more coming out of it.

"Do you think he's doing this for nothing?" she asked.

The jury was handed the case and began deliberations shortly after 4 p.m.

UPDATE 3:17 p.m.: Closing arguments in the sex assault trial of former Broomfield High coach and teacher Travis Masse have just begun, marking the final stage in the four-day court proceeding.

Prosecutor Lisa Hunt has gotten up to address the jury.

District Judge Thomas Ensor has given each side 30 minutes to make their closings.

UPDATE 2:20 p.m.: Former Broomfield High teacher and coach Travis Masse denied on the stand this afternoon ever having gone to the eighth floor of the Hotel Huntington Beach during a 2009 wrestling tournament in California.

"Did you go to the eighth floor?" prosecutor Yvette Werner asked Masse.

"No, there would have been no reason to go to the eighth floor," he replied.

Masse testified that he never left his room, which he shared with fellow coaches, on the night in question.

The issue of Masse's whereabouts on the evening of Jan. 17, 2009, goes to the heart of the prosecution's case, because the alleged victim - Masse's former student and his wrestling team manager - testified earlier this week that she had sex with him in an eighth floor hotel room in California.

She was 17 at the time.

There is no record of Masse renting a room on the eighth floor of the hotel under his own name.

But in a potentially explosive development that came to light late Wednesday, prosecutors told District Judge Thomas Ensor that they had just learned that Boulder Valley School District Superintendent Chris King claimed that he had given his eighth floor room key to Masse for his use on the final night of the trip.

King, whose son wrestled on the team, was leaving a night early.

The prosecution appealed to the judge to allow the information concerning the superintendent and his hotel room into the trial, but the judge said he wouldn't.

He said it was too late to introduce new evidence into the trial and he said he wouldn't allow the jury to hear it.

"If I allowed the people to present this evidence, it would allow the defense to ask for a mistrial to investigate," he said. "I don't think either side wants to go down that road."

King told the Camera at the Broomfield Courthouse this afternoon that he had been subpoenaed to testify on Thursday, but he was never called to the stand.

In a sign that at least one juror was curious about the hotel room issue, a man on the jury asked the judge what had happened to the question posed by the prosecution just before lunch about whether a wrestler's parent had given Masse a hotel room in California.

Ensor told the juror that he and his fellow jurors had the evidence they had and they would be brought back to the court room for jury instructions later this afternoon.

Before the defense rested its case, prosecutors wrapped up their cross-examination of Masse by asking him about his decision to send his alleged victim a picture of his penis and two pictures of him holding his son in March 2010, months after he had been put on administrative leave by the school.

"Yes, I made a terrible mistake," Masse said.

UPDATE 12:25 p.m.: District Judge Thomas Ensor sharply chastised the lead prosecutor this morning for bringing up in front of the jury an issue he had declared off-limits the day before.

Prosecutor Yvette Werner asked Masse during cross-examination just before the lunch break whether a wrestler's parent had given him a room at the California hotel where one of his underage students had accused him of sexually assaulting her.

The prosecutor was referring to a revelation made known Wednesday, when Boulder Valley School District Superintendent Chris King told a detective at the courthouse that he had provided Masse a key to a room that he wasn't going to be able to use that weekend.

King's son wrestled on the Broomfield High team when Masse was coach, and King told the Camera that his son had been knocked out of the tournament early that weekend, so he gave Masse his room key for the final night.

The room was on the eighth floor, which corroborates information provided by the alleged victim.

The judge immediately called the lawyers in the case to the bench and then dismissed the jury.

He launched into Werner with a stern admonishment, saying that the information about the hotel key was new discovery that the defense hadn't been able to examine.

"I made myself very clear on that, and now you are trying to get in the back door," he said. "It's clearly ambush. It violates the defendant's rights to due process."

Werner argued with Ensor, saying she would have introduced the information during the discovery process if she had known about it.

Ensor was unmoved.

"Bottom line is I told you you weren't going to get this in, and you ignored me," he scolded. "As an officer of this court, you are bound to follow the rules of this court - whether you like it or not."

The cross-examination will resume after lunch.

King told the Camera that he didn't report information about the key sooner because he didn't know the case would "hinge" on such a specific allegation.

King has been subpoenaed by prosecutors in the case, but he said he doesn't think he'll be called to testify.

And still, King said, he doesn't know whether the new information has any connection to allegations of sexual assault against Masse.

"I certainly never knew of any wrongdoing on any of these trips that I was in attendance," King said. "I was shocked like everyone else."

King, who said he spoke with the District Attorney's Office about the hotel key again this morning, said it "remains to be seen if it's relevant at all."

"I went on those trips as a parent and did not, of course, as a parent or a superintendent know that anything was wrong," he said.

UPDATE 11:55 a.m.: Prosecutor Yvette Werner struck repeatedly at the theme of deception as she began her cross-examination of former Broomfield teacher and wrestling coach Travis Masse this morning.

She asked Masse if he had a responsibility to his students, his colleagues, his students' parents, and the community at large to act appropriately with his students.

Masse said he did.

Werner asked him if he texted his underage students with sexually explicit messages "under the nose" of his wife, his fellow coaches, and the father of the student who has accused him of sex assault.

"That's deceptive right?" she asked.

"It's deceptive and highly inappropriate," Masse replied.

Werner displayed phone records for the jury that showed that Masse had texted several of his students during the school day.

Before cross-examination began, Masse told the jury that he didn't have sex with one of his underage students at any of the out-of-town wrestling tournaments he attended or at any other time.

His attorney is questioning him in detail about each out-of-town wrestling tournament he attended in late 2008 and early 2009.

UPDATE 10:34 a.m.: The sex assault trial of former Broomfield High School teacher and wrestling coach Travis Masse is starting late this morning because the judge is going through a previously scheduled docket of cases in his court room.

The jury was scheduled to return at 10 a.m. but it looks like the delay will go longer than that.

When the trial resumes, Masse will re-take the stand to be questioned by his attorney. The prosecution will then get the chance to cross-examine him.

Masse, 29, decided late Wednesday to testify on his own behalf. That opens up the opportunity for prosecutors to question him about a case that he goes to trial next month - an allegation that he sent lewd text messages to one of his underage students and asked her for nude photos.

In the current trial, Masse is charged with sex assault on a child after another of his former students at Broomfield High accused him of having sexual contact with her multiple times when she was a minor.

Lesbians | Lesbians Rock 'The Voice' Alongside Christina Aguilera

If you were one of the many TV viewers who were annoyed by NBC's incessant promotional campaign for their Idol competitor, the Voice , then let's hope that you were able to watch the show (if not, watch it online !), because it was actually pretty damn awesome.

The premise is slightly complicated , but a lot of fun. There are four coaches – Christina, Cee-Lo, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton – who must pick 8 singers each for their teams, judging them only on their voices. The coaches then compete to coach the 8 to stardom.

The show is fresh and fun, without much of the base "making fun of the untalented" that American Idol specializes in. And it has so far been a hit, providing NBC the best ratings in 2 years.

Also, you should watch because two kick-ass lesbians were chosen by Christina and Cee Lo: the sexy and sultry Vicci Martinez and the intense and likable Beverly McClellan.

Porn | Outrage Over Internet Porn Access At Local Library

Your local public library is offering more than just the latest bestseller by John Grisham. You can also go to the library to look at porn.

That's right, porn.

State Sen. Marty Golden is among the lawmakers expressing outrage in the wake of news reports about easy access to internet porn sites on public library computers.

Any adult can walk into any library in the Brooklyn, Queens, or New York Public Library systems, present their library card and view internet porn sites, Golden said.

Golden said he thinks it's appalling.

"Libraries are for the community to enrich their educational pursuits, not be a place to go to download pornography," he said.

Golden spoke out on Tuesday, a day after a barrage of media reports on the issue hit the airwaves. The fact that adults have the right to look at porn sites on library computers is nothing new. But news of the adult entertainment bonanza exploded on Monday with an article in the New York Post.

Before long, the story was picked up by television and radio stations and was also featured in newspapers from as far away as England.

Patrons who use library computers are protected by the First Amendment, according to officials."Our responsibility is free and open access. Anything that is legal and permitted on any computer must be made available on a library computer," said Jason Karey, director of marketing and public relations for the Brooklyn Public Library.

It's the same principal with written materials, according to Karey, who said an adult "can check out any book on our shelves."

Karey was quick to add, however, "We're not the taste-makers here."

Golden called on all of the city's public library systems to install stronger filtering systems to ensure that children don't accidentally stumble onto porn sites.

"It is the responsibility of the public library systems to take action to protect the public at large," Golden said.

The lack of strong preventative measures "is a glaring failure to library patrons who don't want to be subjected to actions of the small minority who use the libraries for deviant and lewd actions," he said. The Brooklyn Public Library, which has 58 branches, already has a strong filtering system to protect children, Karey said.

"Because we receive federal funding, we comply with the Child Internet Protection Act. An adult can come into one of our libraries, present a card and be given access to all legal sites on the computer. Kids cannot do that. Kids' cards are blocked," he said.

Police said the victim is an 18-year-old female student who attends Garner High School.

White is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon and is currently being held on $40,000 bond at the Wake County Jail.

Porn | Los Angeles And NYC Public Libraries Won't Filter Porn

L.A. public libraries will, however, adjust the position of their computers to protect patrons (like the kids) who might happen upon someone watching porn. We're kinda thinking this is a common sense issue. Really! Why weren't they more private to begin with?

The public libraries in New York are taking a similar position.

New York Public Library spokeswoman Angela Montefinise said , "In deference to the First Amendment protecting freedom of speech, the New York Public Library cannot prevent adult patrons from accessing adult content that is legal."

Of course, Catholic leaders are annoyed.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue said, "What they're doing is publicly funding an appetite for the most debased fare available. It's not like a Playboy centerfold anymore" it's far worse."

And apparently, the only people the New York Post could get to complain about it was a 60-year-old woman who just happened to end up next to a "dirty old man" watching porn on the day they were visiting. Something's shameful, and it's not the old man's porn watching habits.

Teen Sex | Greenwich Police: Age Determines Teen Sex Laws

Two male Greenwich teens were arrested last week on charges of having sex with younger girls, but these cases show how complicated the are laws, said Greenwich police Sgt. Mark Zuccerella. The department investigates two to three statutory rape cases a month, he said.

"The laws are misunderstood a lot," said Zuccerella, head of the Special Victims Unit. "When I give talks to teachers and students, I always have my Connecticut Law Enforcement handbook with me."

On April 15, a 17-year-old male was arrested after allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl. The girl's parents told the police about the incident, and an investigation found the boy was older than the state statutory limit of three years for teens ages 13 to 15. The boy admitted to having sex with the girl when he turned himself in on a warrant charging him with second-degree sexual assault, a felony. "Even if it were consensual, under state laws the magic number is 16," said Zuccerella. "When we get complaints, we have to look at each one according to age."

Two days later, another male teen turned himself in on a warrant alleging he had sex with a female victim when he was 15 and the girl was 10. At the time, the two lived in the same residence. In this case, he was above the two-year statutory limit for teen sexual contact for children ages 10 to 12, under state law. He was charged with risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault, both felonies.

"We tell boys and girls to stick to kids their own age," said Zuccerella. "Sometimes they're upset when they find out they can't do these things."

With a rise in teen "sexting," or the sending of sexually explicit messages or images via cell phone or other electronic devices, Connecticut's legislature passed a law that went into effect last fall, known as Public Act 10-191. It applies to senders of "sexts" ages 13 to 15 and recipients of "sexts" ages 13 to 17, in regard to child pornography. The act downgrades the penalty for "sexting" among these age groups from a felony to a misdemeanor.

"Prior to this statute if a 15-year-old boy took a picture of his 15-year-old girlfriend and had at least three pictures, he would be in possession of child pornography, and would get arrested and go to a juvenile detention center," said Zuccerella.

Typically, sexting complaints come from schools and parents. "The focus is always on the victim," said Zuccerella. "We look at it as, 'We have a video of a 15-year-old and her 17-year-old boyfriend having sex, what's more important " having this kid arrested? Or getting the video, having it removed from computers and having this girl's dignity restored?'"

"We can't say the statute is working because we've never had anything before to base it on," he said. "The best thing parents can do is have a talk with their kids about having sex and sending photos. Opening the lines of communication is vital."

Sex | Preteen Girls On Sex Bullying Charge

Two preteen US girls accused of hacking into a classmate's Facebook page and posting sexually explicit photos and messages have been charged with cyberstalking and first-degree computer trespassing.

The girls, ages 11 and 12, have been under investigation since the alleged victim's family contacted Issaquah police in Washington state on March 18, according to the charges filed in King County Juvenile Court. According to the charges, the two defendants used the victim's password information to post sexually explicit content on her Facebook page.

They also posted messages that indicated the victim was willing to perform sex acts on people.

The defendants instant-messaged some boys to arrange dates where sex acts were to be performed by the victim, according to the charges.

Jon Knight, the stepfather of the 12-year-old alleged victim, said his family is relieved that the case has resulted in criminal charges. He said that he wasn't taken seriously when he reported the incident to Issaquah police and to staff at Issaquah Middle School.

Knight said his stepdaughter, Leslie Cote, has asked the media to use her name in hopes of bringing attention to the issue of cyberstalking.

Issaquah police were called to the Cote-Knight home on March 18 after Leslie's mother, Tara Cote, called to report vulgar postings on her daughter's Facebook page, charges said. A woman who mentored Leslie told the family that she had noticed photos on the page had been changed to show Leslie with "devil's horns" and with the words "I'm a slut" scrawled across one image, prosecutors said.

The alterations and postings apparently became more vulgar as the night progressed.

Prosecutors said that Leslie had been over at a defendant's house in early March when she logged into Facebook. Leslie's password information was somehow stored on the other girl's computer.

After the girls had a falling out, the defendants hacked into the page "with the intent of embarrassing and tormenting the victim," Issaquah police Detective Ryan Raulerson wrote in the affidavit of probable cause filed to support the charges.

Sara Niegowski, spokeswoman for the Issaquah School District, said Tuesday the district was not conducting its own investigation into the incident because it did not occur on school property. She said the defendants are still enrolled at Issaquah Middle School.

"This incident happened off-campus, off school time and not related to our school environments. There is no disciplinary action at all. It's not a school district incident," Niegowski said.

Niegowski said that the incident has not been a disruption at the school.

"You know what's a disruption is the media coverage," she said. "We always look out for the welfare of our students."

Knight said that his stepdaughter has been granted a restraining order forbidding the defendants from contacting her and barring them from riding her school bus. The three girls are in some of the same classes, Knight said.

On Tuesday, King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said, "This case reveals the dark side of social media sites used by young people."

In a news release, Satterberg wrote: "Many kids think that on a social media site that their actions will be anonymous and that they are free to use it as weapon to bully, harass, and intimidate another person. This case demonstrates that assuming the identity of another person on the Internet with the intent to torment them and expose them to the harassment of others is a crime."
