Porn | Police: Child Porn Suspect Took Pictures In Walmart Bathroom

Dothan police investigators recently arrested Steven Wallace Davidson Jr. , 34, of North Park Avenue, and charged him with the production of child pornography.

After hearing about evidence in the case on Wednesday, Houston County District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis set the bail for Davidson at $1 million.

Davidson had been at the Houston County Jail without bail since his arrest on July 18. If convicted of the class A felony crime of production of child pornography, Davidson faces 10 to 99 years or life in prison.

Dothan Police Sgt. Doug Magill, the supervisor of the department’s juvenile division, said some pictures of children were taken by the defendant while he worked at Walmart. He said the pictures were allegedly taken in the electronics department and the restroom at the store.

"It appears the child was using the bathroom, and he (Davidson) was holding it over the stall taking pictures of the child," Magill said.

Lt. Tony Luker said the evidence for the production of child pornography charge is for images downloaded from the internet, not for pictures taken at Walmart.

Magill said Davidson confessed to taking the pictures, and he also made a statement there were over a million images of child porn on computers at his home. He said detectives also found child pornographic films at Davidson’s home.

"He confided in me that he had a problem for about 20 years," Magill said. "He stated he started doing it at Walmart about a year ago."

Magill said police also determined Davidson allegedly made copies for himself of photographs turned in to the photography department at Walmart where he worked.

Attorney Eric Davis , who represented Davidson , said his client is from Houston County , and is entitled to a bail.

Davis suggested his client was not a flight risk because his family, including his mother, live in Dothan .

"If he’s got an affliction that requires treatment then he needs treatment," Davis said.

Houston County District Attorney Doug Valeska asked the court to set the bail for Davidson at $ 1 million.

"This defendant is taking pictures of children in the bathroom," Valeska said.
