MANILA, Philippines " A man who caught his girlfriend making love with another man in her house in Brgy. Daang Bakal, Mandaluyong went mad and attacked the two with his pocket knife.
Police said Ashley Marquez, 27, was rushed to a hospital after she was stabbed in the neck by Bennie Sajon of San Lazaro, Manila.
Sajon turned ballistic after he saw his sweetheart having sex with Dindo Felix shortly after midnight Wednesday.
He started stabbing his rival repeatedly and later turned his ire on Marquez who tried to intervene in the clash. Village guards nabbed Sajon who is now facing double frustrated murder charges. (Carlo S. Suerte Felipe)
Passenger bus rams into canteen
A passenger bus crashed into a roadside eatery at 11 pm Tuesday at Brgy Pasong Putik in Fairview, QC. No one was hurt during the incident.
Worthy Transport Bus driver Nestro Caliba said slippery roads caused his bus to run uncontrollably but witnesses said he was just driving at high speed.
Teresita Enclana, owner of the canteen said it was fortunate that no one was hurt as someone was sleeping inside the eatery. (Rizal S. Obanil)
Undercover cops entrap two pushers
A teenager and his partner who are believed to belong to a big-time drug syndicate were arrested Wednesday for trying to sell P360,000 worth of shabu to undercover cops in a police entrapment operation conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Quezon City.
PDEA Director General Jose Gutierrez Jr. said Saber Hayatuddin, 18, and his aide Abiya Uyag were nabbed selling 20 grams of shabu to covert agents along Misamis St., Sto. Cristo, Bago Bantay. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
Caloocan fire gobbles up P.5M
A fire of still undetermined origin gobbled up at predawn Wednesday goods worth about P500,000 at the LGCC General Merchandising Store located at Kanlaon St., Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
SFO4 Randy Resurreccion, a city firefighter, said no one was reported hurt during the fire which started at 4:30 pm. Firemen managed to place the fire under control at about 7 a.m. (Ed Mahilum)
Paraaque, QC clean-up drives
The cities of Paraaque and Quezon embarked Wednesday on cleaning campaigns in their communities to fight pollution and de-clog its drainage systems.
Paraaque City officials formed a task force for the clean-up, preservation and rehabilitation of Manila Bay while QC residents have asked the city government to call the attention of private contractors to clean their working areas to avoid construction debris from clogging the drainage system.
