A Plymouth-Canton high school girls' lacrosse coach accused of possessing and distributing child pornography has been sentenced to 5 years of probation.
Stephen Nyquist was sentenced today in Wayne County Circuit Court. Last month, he pleaded guilty to using the Internet to communicate with another to commit a crime and distributing child sexually abusive material.
Prosecutors say Nyquist unwittingly communicated from Jan. 30 to March with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Nyquist was fired earlier this year by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.
