A teenager who police say rammed a police car to escape arrest over an alleged sexual assault last week has been arrested without incident in Melbourne.
Police arrested Thomas Weldon, 18, in Flemington just before 10am (AEST) on Monday after a tip-off from the public.
Police allege Weldon forced a woman into his car at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her about 10pm last Wednesday.
They say he then drove her to an ATM in inner Melbourne where he allegedly forced her to withdraw money before releasing her.
Weldon is also a suspect in seven armed robberies across Melbourne over the past two months.
He allegedly rammed a police car and dodged capture last Friday as police closed in to arrest him in Melbourne's CBD.
Police are questioning Weldon.
