The allegation is that the son of a very senior Editor who owns on Accra-based daily newspaper has forcefully had hot sex with a colleague university female student and recorded the act on video, after which the sex video was circulated.
The suspect is said to have doped his victim by putting some rugs in her drink. The case is currently being investigated at the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) at the Ministries Police Station in Accra.
Suspect's name and that of his dad would be withheld for now but the boy is a level 100 student of a university in Accra and until yesterday, he was locked up in police cells. Reports say he had been denied bail for over 48 hours and the dad had to rely on a colleague Editor who is also a lawyer to help secure bail for the boy.
The Sex
Gossips picked from his school mates suggest that the boy knows his victim quite well. Indeed, they are said to be friends who chat a lot.
During one of their recent conversations, the lady was said to have told the boy that she was tired, after fetching some jerry cans of water, and that she needed some rest. He then proposed to give her a drink to re-energize her.
The drink reportedly contained some drugs which made her drowsy and he then took advantage of her condition and had several rounds of hot sex with her while recording it on video.It is unclear how the video got widely circulated but the girl's parents somehow managed to get a copy of it. They then confronted their daughter, who was quick to reveal the one responsible for it.The case was then reported to the police, after which investigations were done and the boy picked up.
The Editor
The dad has been visiting the station daily and making phone calls to the powers that be to have the case settled out of court. This particular Editor behaves like a lotto forecaster, always predicting figures which never happen to be true, yet he quickly finds excuses and reasons why his predictions did not come true. He has been nicknamed 'Ghana's Octopus Paul' and cannot be described as a slim person. It is unclear whether he is bald-headed or just likes shaving every hair off his head but whatever it is, he does not have hair on his head.
His office is located in a well-respected residential area and he does not seen to have any competition in his area of specialty.
Reports say the boy would be appearing in court very soon. Police source say his name starts with the letter 'F' and that aside this case, he has no other criminal record.
