FLEMINGTON - A Hunterdon County man was charged Thursday with two counts of possessing child pornography.
Michael J. Greulich, 23, of the Pittstown section of Franklin was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, according to a joint announcement by Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano and Somerset County Sheriff Frank Provenzano.
If found guilty, Greulich could face up to 10 years in state prison on the distribution charge and up to 18 months in state prison on the possession charge.
The arrest was the result of evidence obtained after an investigation by Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Computer Crime and Technical Services Unit, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, and the Franklin Township Police Department in Hunterdon County, the announcement stated.
The warrant was issued after an April 11 referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children stating that on March 15, a computer in Hunterdon County uploaded a child pornography video to the Internet, authorities said. Grand jury subpoenas served on the Internet service provider revealed that the video was uploaded from a White Bridge Road residence, according to authorities.
Greulich was taken to the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Superior Court Judge Stephen B. Rubin.
