Mr. Bediako has urged the police to act swiftly and arrest him without delay to erase the negative picture being painted about communities whose names have come up in media reports following the release of the video tapes.
According to the Communications Director, Acheson's conduct had become a stigma to residents and natives of Bekwai, and that something practical should be done about it.
He said the arrest of Acheson, which is not too much for the Ghana police, would help the police establish the truth or otherwise of reports of sexual bouts with ladies from Bekwai, and ascertain the rationale behind his activities.
The arrest of Acheson is a test case and would go to prove the dexterity of the police, Bediako said adding he (Acheson) must not get away with this heinous crime against society. "He is not a hero, and must be brought to book," Bediako intoned.
The Communications Director said having an arrest warrant is one thing against arresting the suspect, who confidently talks to various radio stations on phone, and hoped Supt. Felix Kwasi Cosmos, the Bekwai Municipal Police Commander, would prove his worth and marshal the necessary resources and expertise to bring this criminal to book.
Mr. Bediako also suggested that the health status of Acheson be ascertained upon his arrest, and the necessary charges preferred against him for prosecution for crimes against society.
The pornographic videos of Acheson engaged in hot sex with his victims, allegedly recorded in Bekwai, Obuasi and New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region, and Cape Coast and Assin Fosu in the Central Region, are currently in the public domain.
Media reports say seven of Acheson's victims have been identified by friends and relations, and that five of them are residents of Obuasi, with the other two residing at New Edubiase in the Adansi South district.
Acheson told Fox FM, a local radio station in Kumasi on phone, that he had not captured any girl from Bekwai on video. His claim is yet to be verified.
