Porn | Former Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child Porn

EL PASO- A former El Paso teacher pled guilty today to secretly video-taping hundreds of students for the purpose of creating child porn.

35-year-old Marco Alferez, a former Irvin High dance teacher, admitted to making 157 pornographic videotapes of his students while he was teaching at 5 different schools, two of them elementary schools. Alferez told investigators he placed a hidden camera in a dressing room then order kids to get completely nude while they tried on different outfits. In all, 393 of Alferez's students were victimized.

He also pled guilty to possessing 98 videos featuring minors engaging in hardcore sexual acts. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed the other three counts against him. After the plea, Alferez's lawyer said the case has been very hard on Alferez's family.

"They’re upset. Obviously, this is a serious matter. He's going to spend a lot of time in the penitentiary and it's not a very happy situation for anybody involved," said Michael Gibson, attorney. "We were able to make an agreement with the government which was set out on the written plea agreement, which was beneficial to him and removed a lot of the risks of receiving a much more serious punishment if he went to trial on all the counts."

Alferez will now face a mandatory sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison without a chance to appeal.
He’s expected to be sentenced in about a month.
