Deregistration of PornTeacher Appropriate
Family First NZ is welcoming adecision by the New Zealand Teacher’s Council toderegister a porn magazine model
“Teachers have aspecial status as leaders and should be respected –especially by our children,” says Bob McCoskrie, NationalDirector of Family First NZ. “Modeling and selling nakedphotos to a pornographic magazine doesn’t meet thatstandard. Associating the photos with her profession ofteaching children is also unacceptable.”
“Thesesexually explicit photos of the teacher have been publishedand are now in the public domain. The combined role of pornstar and primary school teacher simply doesn’t fit formany families. Parents would be just as concerned if ateacher was coming to school topless or teaching thatpornographic magazines are harmless. There is a strongsocial stigma against pornography, and pornographicmagazines such as Penthouse – for good reason. Thewelfare, protection and moral innocence of our children mustcome first.”
“The issue is not whether it’slegal or not. As part of earning the respect that theydeserve, they need to be aware that their personalprinciples and profession can not necessarily beseparated,” says Mr McCoskrie. “To pose for a pornmagazine simply lets the side down.”
