Child porn suspect hasn't asked for summer parks job
BY BRIGITTE RUTHMAN REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN
The 41-year-old Winsted man was first hired by the city in 2007 and has returned every year since them to earn $14.25 an hour to coordinate the summer program for school-aged children.
Department of Recreation Superintendent Brett Simmons wouldn't say whether his application would be considered if he does apply. With a deadline looming to hire summer employees by the beginning of June and Papp behind bars on $250,000 bond while he is prosecuted for owning child pornography, it seems unlikely.
"We are still taking applications and don't have one from him," Simmons said Thursday. "His arrest was news to us this morning. We are still discussing it."
