Porn | Child Porn Convict Sentenced In Sex Case

LITTLE VALLEY"A Salamanca man serving 75 years in federal prison as a convicted child pornographer had another 25 years added to his time during state sentencing.

Shawn M. Snyder, 48, received a sentence of 25 years in Cattaraugus County Court to be served concurrently with the federal time for guilty pleas to first-degree aggravated sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Snyder, a father of two, admitted that on about April 3, 2009, in the City of Salamanca, he sexually abused and endangered a child younger than 11.

Later in 2010, Snyder was charged with five counts of production of child pornography"that he took photos of five girls between the ages of 4 and 11 as long ago as 2004 and kept the photos on his computer. Those actions led to the federal charges.

During sentencing Monday, Judge Larry M. Himelein also sentenced Snyder to five years of post-release supervision, ordered HIV testing and extended indefinitely the order of protection for the five victims.

Last year in federal court, Snyder's attorney, Kimberly A. Schechter, said Snyder has an IQ of 73, reads at a second- grade level and takes medication for problems with his nerves.
