And one of the major pulls towards India is the crowd here, says Josh, who has been deejaying since 1986 when he was just 15-years-old. Talking about the crowd, he goes on, "The crowd is fantastic and the energy, oh, it's just something." Talking about his playlist itenary, the DJ explains, "People are quite receptive to house music and this tour I am playing two nights of hip-hop which is very unusual, since I rarely play hip-hop now, but it has helped people to appreciate all kinds of dance music. Here, people love it, they want it. And it's definitely my calling or duty to bring it to them."
So, what makes people love house music so much? "I think, people love to dance and get the stress out after a long day, and here, house music really, really helps. So this is like a stress-buster to them... They want a kick in the groove, they want to dance, and that's a global phenomenon."
Josh had found his calling quite soon in life and "has never had any doubts or questions" regarding what he wanted to pursue. And at 12 years of age, he was already buying records and experimenting with music. "I was buying jazz, funk, disco and soul records, you name it. And then house music came around, and for me all those types of music got merged in one." However, the journey hasn't been an easy one for Josh, but he likes to see the tough times as an experience, making him "prepared" and "making it easy" for other stuff, like his club in Bangkok " the Bed Supper Club, where he is the entertainment director and original head resident DJ.
